Security Deposit Requirements
- Maximum Amount – One (1) months’ rent. Tenants that have any judgements against them, the Landlord can charge two (2) months rent.
- Returning to Tenant– Must return deposit within 30 days of the lease end date. If any deductions were made, the Landlord needs to include an itemized list of deductions

Paying Rent and Late Fees
- Grace Period – There’s no grace period in North Dakota.
- Maximum Late Rent Fee – Should be stated in the lease agreement.
- NSF Fees – $40 per bounced rent check.
