Security Deposit Requirements
Maximum Amount – Landlords can request the amount that is up to two (2) months rent.
Returning to Tenant – 30 days from the lease end date. An itemized list must be attached that explains any deductions taken out.

Landlord Rental Property Access
General Access – No law mandating Landlord access. It’s recommended that Landlords give Tenants at least 24-hours notice prior to entering the rental property unless it’s an emergency.
Paying Rent and Late Fees
Grace Period – The grace period should be written in the lease agreement as Missouri does not mandate grace periods.
Maximum Late Fee – No limit. Should be written in the lease agreement.
NSF Fees – $25 per bounced rent check. If a Tenant intentionally gives Landlord a bad check, the Tenant will be charge with a penalty criminally and will pay a fine of $750 or more.
