The Alaska bill of sale form is a legal document that are used in the transfer of ownership of personal property from a seller to a buyer for an agreed-upon trade.

What to include in the Alaska bill of sale form?

  • The buyer’s name + address
  • The seller’s name + address
  • The vehicle/car description (make, model, year, + body style)
  • The car’s vehicle identification number (VIN)
  • The sale date
  • Transaction details (purchase: price, trade, and/or gift)
  • The warranty information (sold “as-is”)
  • The Odometer Disclosure
  • The Federal Law, 49 U.S. Code § 32705, requires a bill of sale to include a verifying statement about the vehicle’s mileage. Vehicles greater than ten years old and over 16,000 pounds are exempt.

Selling Vehicle: Steps (6)

  1. Attach, email, or submit online: the Notice of Vehicle Sale for Transfer to the original Title.
  2. Disclose the original Title to the buyer and complete the Assignment of Vehicle Title by Owner.
  3. Remove any personal plates before the sale as the buyer will get a free new set of plates.
  4. Do not leave any blank spaces on the forms.
  5. Confirm the odometer disclosure statement numbers if car is less than 10 years old.
  6. Sign and release interest.
