Security Deposits

Maximum – Landlords can charge Tenants any amount as there are no laws in West Virginia governing the maximum amount of security deposits Landlords can request from Tenants.

Returns – Landlords must return security deposits to the Tenant within 60 days of the lease end date OR within 45 days of the new tenancy start new start (whichever number of days is shorter).
