Security Deposit
Maximum – Landlords can request from Tenants a total amount of one months’ rent for security deposits.
Return – The Landlord must return all deposits to Tenants within 14 days of the lease end date.

Paying Rent
Grace Period – There’s a five (5) day grace period in New York.
Maximum Late Fee – The maximum late fee Landlords can charge Tenants is 5% of the total rent payment for the period or $50. Must choose the amount that is less.
