Landlord-Tenant Relationship Laws

The District Division of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch (1) governs the Landlord-Tenant relationship laws, including the following:
  • Evictions – The rules for how and when a Landlord can evict a Tenant.
  • Security Deposits & Tenant Rights – This law limits the amount Landlords can collect for security deposits and the time they must return them to the Tenant.
  • Habitable Property Conditions – Landlords must keep rental units safe and livable.
  • Fair Housing – Bans discrimination in renting based on race, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.
