Rental Application Form—Tenants should fill out this document before signing the New Hampshire Lease to Purchase Option agreement, as it allows the Landlord to verify their credit and employment history by doing a background and credit check. As of January 1, 2025, Landlords must disclose any application or renewal fees in writing to applicants.
Purchase Agreement – The contract becomes an NH purchase agreement if the Tenant decides to buy the property.
Landlord-Tenant Relationship Laws
The District Division of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch (1) governs the Landlord-Tenant relationship laws, including the following:
- Evictions – The rules for how and when a Landlord can evict a Tenant.
- Security Deposits & Tenant Rights – This law limits the amount Landlords can collect for security deposits and the time they must return them to the Tenant.
- Habitable Property Conditions – Landlords must keep rental units safe and livable.
- Fair Housing – Bans discrimination in renting based on race, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.
